Christopher Render

Christopher Render has been the Associate Director of Bands/Instrumental Music at Metamora Township High School since 2003.  His duties include Director of the Symphonic Band, Athletic Bands, Jazz Ensemble, and Madrigal Brass as well as an Instrumental music instructor of Piano and Acoustic Guitar classes. In addition to his work at Metamora, IL,  Mr. Render serves as the Director of Red Devil Bands at Eureka College in Eureka, IL.

Christopher Render was born in Detroit, Michigan but was primarily raised in Houston, Texas. He received his Bachelors in Music Ed. from Stephen F. Austin State University, in Nacogdoches, TX.  Mr. Render taught as Associate Director of Bands at Eisenhower High School in Houston, TX (Aldine ISD) and served as Front Line Instructor of the Sound Wave Percussion Theatre (WGI events). As a graduate student at Illinois State University, Christopher received a Music Performance degree in Wind Band Conducting and Horn under Director of Bands, Dr. Stephen K. Steele and Horn professor, Dr. Joe Neisler.

Chris Render has performed with ensembles like the Houston Symphonic Band, the Orchestra of the Pines, and the Scott Joplin Chamber Orchestra, Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra, the Peoria Symphony, and the Brass Band of Central Illinois (Alto Horn). He also maintains a dedicated role in his church worship team at Community Bible Fellowship in El Paso, IL.

Mr. Render is a member of the Minority Band Directors National Association (MBDNA), the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA), the Texas Music Educators Association, and National Association for Music Education (NAFME), and the National Band Association. He is also the IMEA District 3 Jazz Representative.
