Ten Metamora HS music students have been selected as Illinois Music Education Association All-State musicians.  These young musicians are the 'best of best" in the state, accepted through an arduous audition process that began in October, ultimately leading to their participation and performance at the ILMEA State Conference in January.

Junior Singer Pete Stoller has been placed in All-State Choir and instrumentalists, Avery Gutwein, Alex Kasper, Jacob Klein, Mallika Patel, Jordan Rodier, Grayson Schaer, Rebecca Wipfler, and Derek Zimmerman will audition on the first day of the conference vying  for slots in the band, orchestra, or jazz band at the All-State or Honors level.  In addition to the musicians, Junior Emma Scalf will take part in the conference as part of the Future Music Educators Seminar helping young people explore music education as a career.  Emma, one of about 45 seminar participants from the state, was selected based on an essay and recommendations.

The All-State jazz concert takes place on the evening of Friday, January 24th in the Peoria Civic Center Theater.  The All-State and Honor ensembles perform in the Civic Center Arena on Saturday, January 25th.
